A Mask of Flies

For years, Anne Heller has been a career criminal, taking whatever jobs she can get. Her most recent job was a bank heist that ends up going horribly wrong. One of her partners, Jessup, is wounded and Anne ends up taking a cop, Dutch, as hostage. With nowhere else to go, Anne heads back to her mother’s cabin where she hasn’t been since her mother died when she was six.

Jessup ends up dying from his wounds and something else outside the cabin. Anne and Dutch bury him, only to have Jessup come knocking at the front door. It’s not exactly him, but something wearing his face and A Mask of Flies. Anne and Dutch go on the run from this evil that has been chasing Anne her whole life. Wow. This book was crazy insane. If you enjoy stories of the supernatural, reluctant heroes, and cults, this book is for you. Be warned, though, there is a lot of gore in this tale. Like, an abnormally large amount. Nothing is left to the imagination here. It’s hard to put down because you have no idea if anyone will survive. This is definitely the creepiest page-turner I’ve read all year.
